The Evening Standaaaard are claiming that Arsenal are keen to offload Lucas Torreira to Fiorentina and Mikel Arteta has no plans to use him in his new regime.
Fiorentina remains the favourites to sign him which comes as no surprise as he’s been on loan there for a season. In addition, it’s thought that they have an automatic option to sign him for around £12.5 million at the end of the season.
We paid £25m for him form Sampdoria in 2018 and would be looking to recoup half of that by doing a deal with Fiorentina. Torreira’s agent also claims that we’re not keen to deal with the Italians as we are still smarting from losing out on a player that I don’t think we were even interested in. He who will remain nameless, and yes, he did score tonight against Villareal.
Wilshere moves on to Danish side Aarhus, in the middle of AarStreet – Madness!
It remains to be seen how seriously Torreira is injured after limping off in the first half against Atalanta this weekend.
Torreira’s agent said:
“Fiorentina want to buy him on a permanent deal, Torreira is playing very well in Florence, he is the same player who used to be. Dynamic and consistent. Torreira is happy in Florence, he is one of the best players there…”
Torreira has played well during 22 games across all competitions this season, scoring two goals for Fiorentina. The Italian side has surprised many people with a great season so far. One which sees them flying high towards European qualification for next year if it can continue.
So, it looks like the chances of them signing Torriera are looking fairly good at this point. If the reports are to be believed it also looks like he has definitely played his last game in an Arsenal shirt.
