Following a cracking away win under the lights of Wolves, the manager and players have been reflecting on a hard-fought win on the road.
Arteta was less than happy about the ridiculous red card handed to Gabriel Martinelli, the Brazilian booked for two offences just seconds apart during the same passage of play.
He said:
“I’ve never seen that. I’ve been 18 years in this country and I’ve never seen something like it. We made it even more difficult for ourselves playing with 10 men. We suffered a lot in the last 10 minutes. I’ve never seen anything like it…”
The Wolves manager called out a foul on the keeper for our goal, unsurprisingly, but you go and read about that on WolvesShorts.
Thomas Partey said:
“We deserved it and the team showed a lot of character. We have to go game by game and today was a massive win for us. We know how difficult it is to come here and get the three points. They have a big crowd that supports them and they got a high from the crowd but we did our best and in the end we deserved it and we fought for each other.”
Alex Lacazette said:
“This meant a lot and we showed a lot of good things for the rest of the season. It’s always stressful in this kind of game. I’m proud of my team because we handled it well…”
We have yet another weekend off as we were due to play Chelsea who are off on a jolly, so as a result, it means we don’t play now until next Saturday with a home game with Brentford ahead of Wolves again on the following Thursday.
