Mikel Arteta revealed today on AFCi, that our right-back and star-of-the-season so far, Takehiro Tomiyasu is back in full training. When asked if he’d play, Arteta said that ‘he is there’, but didn’t reveal for definite whether he’d start the Thursday night game and said he wouldn’t rush him back (like he did last time which caused the injury in the first place). One journalist yesterday considered Super Tom a doubt because he’d not trained, something Arteta denied today.
As mentioned yesterday, Cedric could come in, but it was also revealed he is only just recovering from an injury himself. In some good team news for Wolves, Granit Xhaka is back, along with Thomas Partey after the chuckle brothers’ recent suspensions for unnecessary red cards in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Mohamed Elneny should be back following his AFCON exploits, but would only be on the bench if he is deemed ready, and hopefully, everyone else is back and fighting fit for the 1st of our 17 cup finals to try and get a grip on an unlikely top-four spot this season.
Man United dropped points last night against Burnley, which helps us, while Sp*rs play Southampton at the home of the 1961 League Champions, while Chelsea don’t play due to their involvement in their suspect purchase of yet another trophy somewhere.
West Ham (including the cat kicker) sneaked a 1-0 win over Watford, so we will be hoping to keep up the pressure on those sides with a rare victory at Molineux tomorrow night. Our game is one that you can stream live on BT Sport, KO at 745pm. Liverpool, VAR and the ref, take on Leicester in the other game of the night.
Then, it’s worth noting we don’t play again for another 10 days or so, where we will play Brentford at home as the season starts to get into the final stretch.
