I think we all knew this was coming but it looks like the Wolves away has come around too soon for our right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Football writer Charles Watts has confirmed the thinks Tomiyasu is a ‘big doubt’ for our game at Molineux on Thursday night.

He said on his YouTube channel that:

“I think the big one that we’re all going to be wondering around is Tomiyasu, isn’t it? Not seen any pictures of him in training since they got back from Dubai, it is a little bit worrying. We heard Mikel say after the 0-0 against Burnley just before the break, Mikel saying that Tomi would be out for a few weeks with this calf injury. We haven’t seen him in training yet, so you’ve got to think he’s a big, big doubt for this Thursday…”

Arteta also said after the Liverpool game at The Emirates on the 20th of Jan, that he is out for a ‘couple of weeks’ and the Wolves game will be three weeks since he played his last game.

He has amazingly only missed one Arsenal game (and two for Japan), which was the 0-0 draw with Burnley, but my gut feeling is that he will miss the Wolves game with the injured calf he’s been carrying (no idea why he’s been carrying an injured calf around).

This means he will be given another week or two to recover ahead of the Brentford game on the 19th of February which means he’d have had a full month off.

It could mean another makeshift defence with Ben White as right back or the frightening prospect of seeing Cedric once again.
