The Daily Mail have reported that we will play Championship side Reading in a friendly once we return from Dubai.
We don’t play now until the 10th of February when we make the trip to Wolves in the Premier League, so the club has arranged this friendly to try and bridge the gap as we search for our second goal and first win of the year.
The Mail is reporting that the players were given a few days off after the disappointing draw with Burnley, and the Reading game will be played behind closed doors upon our return from our warm-weather training camp late next week.
We have recently loaned Karl Hein to Reading, so perhaps this game was added as part of that deal.
However, the Daily Mail does say ‘we are keen to arrange a friendly’ and that ‘the opponents are yet to be confirmed’ so not sure there’s much concrete evidence of this game as yet.
As the transfer window draws to a close, it looks like we are going to be doing some late business after just loaning a few players out so far without bringing anyone in so far. We can hope anyway.
