Sead Kolasinac has signed a new 18-month deal at French side Marseille as Arteta continues to grind out Operation Deadwood.

Kolasinac has found himself surplus to requirements at The Emirates and with six months left on his contract, and only five appearances all season, the move comes as no surprise. He also spent some time on loan with Schalke last season.

Arsenal.com announced the move this afternoon and said his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

They said:

“Sead Kolasinac has left the club by mutual consent. Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Sead for his contribution to the club since he joined us in 2017 and wish him all the best for his future.”

Despite his best efforts on the pitch, including a goal against Chelsea on his debut, Kolasinac will be best remembered for the time he fought off a pair of knife-wielding car-jacking attackers saving Mesut Ozil in the process.
