It looks like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has returned from AFCON duty for medical tests with Arsenal after it was found that he has lesions on his heart, along with his recent COVID contraction.
Aubameyang and his teammate Mario Lemina both ended up with COVID are visiting a Dubai training camp ahead of the tournament which seems like a sensible idea in the middle of a global pandemic.
Anywayyyy, the Gabon national coach Patrice Neveu said:
“Given the medical concern that Pierre-Emerick (Aubameyang) and Mario (Lemina) encountered, in agreement with the doctor, my federation president and the players, we made the wise decision to send them back to their clubs so that they can get treatment, be taken care of…”
Gabon drew 1-1 with Thomas Partey’s Ghana on Friday and are scheduled to play Morocco on Tuesday in the next round, but Aubameyang will play no part in the game. Aubameyang missed our game against Tottenham on Sunday which was hilariously called off.
There is still no news on whether or not Aubameyang’s tournament is over, and/or whether he will be playing in an Arsenal shirt again.
