It’s now thought that Lucas Torreira could be used as a makeweight in trying to lure Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic to Arsenal this month.
There’s talk of a firm cash offer from The Emirates for the 21-year-old Serb, but we are now said to be adding out-of-favour Lucas Torreira, who is already on loan with Fiorentina into the package to try and get our man according to reports in Italy.
The full package would be upwards of around £75m, which Arsenal seem to be willing to pay to get their man but things are by no means cut and dried as it looks like Vlahovic has a dodgy agent in the mould of Nic Anelka’s.
The Serb striker already has 16 goals in 20 games for Fiorentina but it’s looking increasingly likely that the player may wait until the end of the season to make any decision and maximise his new deal.
Surely Arteta will want to try and bolster our strike options, with Martinelli and Lacazette currently holding things together up top. Aubameyang remains away at AFCON and not guaranteed to play again for us and Eddie Nketiah not firing in the league, Arteta surely has to be looking to sort things out this month.
