Striker Folarin Balogun has joined Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the season as our January clearcut kicks off.

Balogun failed to impress given his chance against Brentford when our squad was ravaged by COVID earlier on this season so will be keen to get some minutes under his belt at Boro.

Bernd Leno, Pablo Mari and Sead Kolasinac are another three players who could move during this window as Arteta continues to try to build a squad in his own image.

Aaron’s Ramsdale has been brilliant this season, forcing Leno out of the starting lineup, Mari and Kolasinac are both way down the pecking order so likely to move.

Arteta has confirmed Eddie Nketiah will remain with us until the end of the season despite interest from Crystal Palace, the best looking Spaniard we know, said:

“The situation is that Eddie is our player, he’s under contract so he is going to stay here with us…”

We have already made one signing this January, with the acquisition of Lino Sousa from West Brom. Full story here.

On the pitch, we face Liverpool tomorrow at Anfield in our Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, then we head to the 1961 League Champions to try and improve on our current fourth place spot in the league.
