According to reports, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is training I his hotel room to try and shake off his recent bout of Covid. He already missed Gabon’s first game with Comoros, a game they won 1-0 without the once-mercurial striker.

Gabon’s head coach; Patrice Neveu, is hopeful Aubameyang will be back for their next game against Ghana this Friday:

“His morale is ok, and in the face of this virus, we don’t really have a choice. He’s doing exercises in his hotel room, he’s able to work on an exercise bike, he’s doing sessions. We have four days so we’re hopeful, he doesn’t have any fever and we’re hoping that he tests negative…”

Aubameyang and his teammate Mario Lemina along with coach Anicet Yala all tested positive upon arrival in Cameroon after pictures surfaced of them dining together in Dubai ahead of the tournament.

Aubameyang has been dropped from the Arsenal squad over recent weeks over repetitive breaches of club policy and lateness and many people think he’s played his last game for the club.

Thomas Partey’s Ghana side were beaten by Morocco after conceding a late goal, and him and Aubameyang could face off on Friday as their two nations meet in the tournament if Auba can shake off the pesky Rona.
