Goals from Bukayo Salah and Gabriel Martinelli were enough to take all three points from an enjoyable game in the cold on Saturday lunchtime.
Bottom of the league Newcastle side were cut further adrift as we went up through the gears to swiftly allay any fears of gifting the Magpies their first win on a topsy-turvey season.
Saka was man of the match and twisted and turned to score the opener after some great intertwangling between himself and Smith Rowe.
Then it was down to the Brazilian Martinelli who had just come on to finish the game with an amazing finish. The ball dropping over his shoulder only to be despatched past the Newcastle keeper to all but finish the game and put last weekend’s annual Anfield hiding just a distant memory.
Next up for the mighty Arsenal is a visit to Old Trafford on Thursday (wait, what?) night where we can put a marker down for the rest of the season if we can get something out of the game, making the most of the current uncertainty at Old Trafford before their new interim management team get settled in.
We then head into a potentially tricky Christmas period with visits to Everton and Leeds, home games with high-flying West Ham, then onto Man City and Tottenham.
We can only hope our good form against the lower league teams such as Newcastle and Tottenham can translate into getting some points off the bigger sides like Man City and West Ham.
