Following on from what can only be described as a whole season with the Arsenal November curse, we look to bring some much needed Christmas cheer back to the club with a nice easy game at The Emirates on Tuesday night.
We face a resurgent Man City in the league cup quarter-finals, looking to secure a place in the semi-final ahead of the final in March.
Arsenal have announced today that there are no new injuries since the Everton game, but they’re saying that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will miss the game with a calf issue but maybe back in time for the Chelsea game on Boxing Day.
Gabriel will return after his suspension for his sending off, which Thomas Partey remains out and ‘working hard with our medical team in order to return to training’, which sounds slightly worrying.
Xhaka is suspended, this game being the last of his three following his rather unnecessary red card against Burnley.
You may remember that we have already knocked out Liverpool and Leicester to get this far and let’s not worry too much that Man City have won this cup for the last three seasons as if this season has taught us anything, it’s that anything can happen.
