With the new season just a month away there’s no time to rest on our laurels after our FA Cup win against Chelsea.

Amazingly, Mikel Arteta has already tasted success with Arsenal as a Manager after beating Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley two weeks ago and with the Community Shield on the horizon against Liverpool, he will be hoping for a repeat of our win over Liverpool last month.

How are things looking for Arteta’s men, based around the recent reports on possible transfers?

William Saliba has already signed from St. Etienne and is in full training, while Cedric Soares is now also training with the first team.

There are rumours that Arteta is preparing for a clear out, with Sokratis, Mhykatarian, Torreira and Chambers all said to be marked up for sale.

On the incoming side, it looks like Arteta could be about to sign Chelsea’s Willian on a free transfer, the deal was only held up as there was no club photographer to deal with the transfer – Sky now claims the deal for the 31-year-old will be finalised by the weekend.

There’s also rumours afoot about Arsenal bringing Coutinho back to England, I suspect the money to complete this deal might be a bit too much for Arteta’s Arsenal to stretch to.

Uncertainty also remains over Ceballos who could be heading back to Real Madrid after there was a disagreement over who should be paying his wages.

Aubameyang is yet to extend his stay, fuelling rumours of a big-money move away from Arsenal, and Alexandre Lacazette also continues to be linked with a move to Juventus.

Other than this, and a few made-up rumours about some promising youngsters, things are fairly quiet on the transfer front. However, I imagine that once Willian signs, things will warm up as Arteta will want to steal a march on the other sides, especially with a Community Shield on the horizon and the new season just four weeks away.
