Centre-back target Dayot Upamecano has signed a new one-year deal with RB Leipzig according to RMC, ending speculation of a move to join Arsenal. The player had been heavily linked with a move to The Emirates to sure up Mikel Arteta’s under-fire defensive line.
RMC journalist Loic Tanzi tweeted this yesterday:
Annoncé partant depuis plusieurs semaines, Dayot Upamecano va prolonger à Leipzig jusqu’en 2022. Le défenseur français devrait donc rester encore un an au moins #Mercato #RMCLive

Most of us Gooners were dreaming of him joining William Saliba to make up our new centre-back pairing but it seems as though this particular dream will have to wait for now. Perhaps while you are waiting, you could visit the best USA casinos?
The 21-year old has been brilliant for Leipzig this season, and the German side wanted to tie him down for at least one more season and have managed to secure his services until the summer of 2022.
While the news isn’t good for Arteta this summer, the fact that Upamecano only signed for one more year could indicate that next summer he, and Leipzig could be open to a move, and Arsenal is definitely a possible destination for the youngster.
