As our Arsenal boys prepare for next week’s Premier League dead-rubber, no-one-cares, won’t-count-anyway game against Man City, we were humbled at The Emirates by London neighbours Brentford.

Following our confidence-boosting 6-0 win over Charlton the week before, we were bought down to earth with a bump after bossing most of the game, losing 3-2 to the Championship outfit.

There was a return for Kieran Tierney in the game where Arteta switched the full side at half time, basically nullifying any scoreline, expunging it from the record as we all know friendlies, where this happens, don’t count, a bit like Liverpool’s ‘League Title’ this season.

Anyway, when it looked like it was going to remain goalless at half time Joe Willock popped up with the opener. Pepe almost doubled our lead at the break, but hit the post as the whistle went.

Watch the highlights here:

Arteta bought on Luiz, Maitland-Niles, Guendouzi, Ozil and Lacazette all coming on for Pablo Mari, Willock, Ceballos, Nketiah, Pepe and Aubameyang.

Mustafi almost doubled our lead with a bullet header as more and more Arsenal chances went begging, AMN and Lacazette both went close, but then with just half an hour left, Brentford punished our wasteful finishing, Tarique Fosu making it 1-1.

Alex Lacazette restored our lead immediately, but Brentford quickly equalised for a second time after Lacazette lost possession and paid the ultimate price.

Then, just as looked like a 2-2 draw was going to be played out, Brentford grabbed a late winner to send the away fan on his way home quite pleased with himself.
