24th March 1917 – Arsenal 2-1 Portsmouth. 4,500 fans watch Arsenal win out in the wartime league.

24th March 1928 – Arsenal’s fourth successive FA Cup semi-final saw us lose 2-1 to Blackburn at Leicester’s ground.

24th March 1934 – Ted Drake’s Arsenal debut as we beat Wolves 3-2, Drake getting on the scoresheet. He went on to play 167 league games and scored a whopping 124 goals.

24th March 1956 – Sheffield Utd 0-2 Arsenal. The start of six consecutive wins without letting in a goal, despite this run we still only managed a fifth place finish.

24th March 1984 – Arsenal 4-1 Wolverhampton. Start of a nine match unbeaten run.

24th March 1990 – Derby 1-3 Arsenal. Kwame Ampadu’s League debut, coming on as a sub. Martin Hayes got two, and Kevin Campbell got the other.

24th March 1994 – George Graham sold Anders Limpar to Everton for £1.6m. Limpar was a firm fan favourite and scored 20 goals while at the club. 24th March 2012 – Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa. Gibbs, Walcott and Arteta all scored at The Emirates but only one of them would end up being Arsenal manager. Match report here.
