23rd March 1894 – Woolwich Arsenal 6-0 Norwich Victoria. The club’s biggest win so far that season in the league.
23rd March 1907 – Arsenal lost a FA Cup semi-final for the second year running, our last semi-final until 1927.
23rd March 1910 – Arsenal were in financial trouble and Tottenham were rumoured to be looking to invest in the club but thank God, it didn’t happen. Rangers however made a symbolic investment launching a lifelong relationship between the two clubs. Herbert Chapman also launched an annual Arsenal v Rangers match in the 1930s.

23rd March 1935 – Arsenal 1-1 Grimsby, Arsenal drew while Tottenham lost and then lost again, 6-0 to Leicester on their way to relegation.
23rd March 1968 – Fulham 1-3 Arsenal. Our first league win in ten games.
23rd March 1971 – FC Koln 1-0 Arsenal. Fairs Cup 4th round 2nd leg, Arsenal going out on the away goals rule after the first leg ended 2-2.
23rd March 1977 – Stoke 1-1 Arsenal. Our first point in eight games, and our sixth goal in ten games. Bad time to be a Gooner.
23rd March 1994 – Arsenal 2-2 Man United. Eric Cantona was sent off for two yellow cards in 3 minutes after shocking fouls on Ian Selley and Tony Adams earning the Frenchman a five game ban.
23rd March 2000 – Werder Bremen 2-4 Arsenal. ‘It’s Only’ Ray Parlour scored a hat-trick as Arsenal went through to the UEFA cup semi-final.
23rd March 2002 – Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle. FA Cup 6th round replay on the way to our 3rd Double. Robert Pires scored one of the goals before being stretchered off with a bad knee injury.
We then went on to beat Middlesbrough and then Chelsea in the final and Pires and despite his injury was name Football Writers’ Player of the Year.
