Mikel Arteta has said that new signing Cedric Soares could feature in tomorrow night’s game at Man City. Soares has been Kallstrommed since signing from Southampton in January but the loan-star is now fully fit and looks like he’s available for the game tomorrow night.

When asked about the centre-back pairing of Soares and Mustafi, who have both been struggling with recent injuries, Arteta replied via The Evening Standard:

“I think they will be available to play. Hopefully everyone will be able to train tomorrow and we’ll pick the best players that we can…”

Pablo Mari has also impressed in the last two games alongside David Luiz, so it remains to be seen whether Arteta sticks with the Spaniard or brings back Mustafi to partner the Brazilian for the must-win (but probably won’t-win) game.

In more good news, Kieran Tierney looks to be back in action pretty soon, Arteta said last week ahead of the West Ham game that:

“He’s done two or three complete sessions now. He’s feeling more and more confident with contact around him and hopefully he will join in the squad soon…”

We will still be without Lucas Torriera who could be out for as many as ten weeks following his ankle fracture.

The lads will definitely have their work cut out at City, with Kevin De Bruyne looking likely to return, however, there’s a slim chance Aguero could miss the game. He was seen on the bench after being subbed against Manchester United, sporting an ice pack on a suspect thigh injury/twang. Here’s hoping…

An unlikely win over City would propel us up the table and get us well and truly in touch with the top 5. We’d still have plenty of work to do however, with another tricky away game at Brighton on Saturday but back to back wins on the top of the West Ham three points would really give us a great chance of a strong end to the season.
