Our FA Cup game with Sheffield United has been confirmed as kicking off on Sunday March 22nd at 1:30pm and will be shown live on BT Sport.
We booked our place in the quarter-finals after our 2-0 win last Monday against Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Lucas Torreira was injured during that game and today confirmed as probably missing ten weeks through the injury he picked up.
This means he’s pretty likely to miss the rest of the season after fracturing his ankle, more on that here.
The chance to play on a Sunday will come as welcome news to most of the traveling Gooners. We have already had to endure several inconvenient trips on Monday nights already, away to West Ham, Man United and Sheffield United in the league.
Plus Leeds at home, Bournemouth and Portsmouth away in the FA cup already this season. Given that only one of them has ended in defeat, it could be seen as a lucky omen … only issue is, the only one we’ve lost…? You’ve guessed it – Sheffield United away!
The other games and kick off times are as follows:
Quarter-final weekend:
SATURDAY
21.03 Leicester v Chelsea KO 1230
21.03 Newcastle v Man City KO 1900
SUNDAY
22.03 Sheffield Utd v Arsenal 1330
22.03 Norwich v Man Utd 1630
Confirmation of the quarter final date now also means our game at Southampton away will still need to be rescheduled.
