Roma Manager Paulo Fonseca has told Sky Sports that he wants to make Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s loan spell into a permanent arrangement.

Mkhitaryan is currently on loan at Roma along with Manchester United’s Chris Smalling and despite several injury problems this term, seems to be doing well when he actually has played for the Romans.

He made one goal and scored in a 4-0 win against Lecce this weekend and Fonseca said:

“Mkhi during this season got some injuries but he is returning now and he is proving his quality, I would also like to keep Mkhi in our team…”

Mkhitaryan has missed a lot of this season through injury, firstly a tear in his abductor muscle and then he strained his thigh but the Manager obviously can still see through this and realises he has a decent player on his hands.

There were recent rumours of Mkhitaryan coming back to Arsenal due to a mismatch of the Armernian’s value between the two clubs, but it now looks as though Roma have had a change of heart.
