Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be in line for a sensational return to The Emirates from his loan spell at Roma according to reports in The Sun.

The Armenian is still under contract with Arsenal until the summer of next year and its thought that Roma will now reject the clause in the deal to take him permanently  unless a compromise on a fee can be figured out.

Roma could have the 31 year old for a fee of around £20 million following his loan but its looking unlikely they will exercise their right to buy after the offered a much lower figure thought to be about £8.5m which Arsenal immediately rejected out of hand.

Tierney will be back ‘stronger’ – Forsythe

Mkhitaryan has missed 11 games this season through injury, firstly a tear in his abductor muscle and then he strained his thigh. However, the games he has managed to feature in he’s been fairly impressive, in 15 appearances/5 starts in all competitions, he has scored 4 goals and provided and assist.

Mkhitaryan moved to The Emirates from Manchester United in a swap for Alexis Sanchez a year ago and is thought to be on around £160,000 a week, a huge amount for Arteta to massage into our wage budget, especially given that he already has Pepe, Nelson, Saka and Gabriel Martinelli available in similar positions.
