The best looking Spaniard we know; Mikel Arteta has been speaking out about the Dubai training camp over on the website formerly known as AFCi; Arsenal.com

He has said that this time is very important for the player and backroom staff to train together and get to know each other a bit better in such a relaxing environment and said that the training facilities are ‘phenomenal’.

Arteta said:

“We are really excited. The weather conditions and the facilities we have here for training are phenomenal, the boys are in good spirits and we had a really good training session. Just the fact of having everyone together, because we haven’t really had time to work with the 20 or 22 players since I have been here…”

With the busy Christmas period and two decent cup runs, the injuries seemed to be mounting up, but with this new, fangled winter break it feels like perfect timing to try and get some players back.

Our two new signings Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares both travelled to Dubai along with injured stars Kieran Tierney and Reiss Nelson. On the news signings, Arteta said:

“With Pablo a little bit more than Cedric, but we have to go step by step. He is a new player and I am sure he is very excited and wants to prove everything in three days, so we have to manage him wisely…”

We will be back in league action a week tomorrow as we face Newcastle at home, and then its back to Europa League action the following week as Arteta looks to get something tangible out of what has been a tough season so far.
