Ex-Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy has been speaking out about our new signing William Saliba, due to join us over the summer.
Saliba signed for Arsenal in the summer for £27m and loaned back to Saint-Etienne for the rest of this season where he has been beleaguered by injury.
He broke his foot against Monaco back in November and missed games at the start of the season due to an abductor muscle injury.
The Frenchman also suffered a broken metatarsal and has been receiving treatment at Arsenal and back in France but has made his long awaited comeback and played 90 minutes against FC Metz this weekend.
Matt Debuchy, speaking to a Ligue 1 Podcast back in France his quoted as saying:
“I’m so happy for him to play next season for a big club like Arsenal. He improves every game and I think he is a great player. He’s strong with good technique and he’s quick…”
Looks like he’s about right:
