It looks like we may be about to unveil a January signing, with Spanish centre back Pablo Mari jetting in to ease our current defensive injury crisis.
The player has been photographed at Heathrow Airport with Edu, and a reporter allegedly asked him if he was excited to join Arsenal, and he apparently replied ‘Yes, of course’ according to Football.London.
They also claim he will undergo a medical this weekend and will leave his current club, Brazilian side Flamengo in the coming days and is said to have already said his goodbyes ahead of a £7.5m deal bringing him to The Emirates.
WIth Calum Chambers out for the season and David Luiz suspended for three games, our defensive crisis is getting worse, so a solid signing like Mari will go some way to plugging the gaps.
In other news, it looks like Olivier Giroud could be about to join Inter Milan from Chelsea in a £4m move. The deal apparently hinges on Inter’s Matteo Politano completing a deal to join Napoli, there are also some rumours floating about that the Frenchman could be about to join Barcelona which seems a bit less likely that the Inter link.
