Mikel Arteta revealed that Reiss Nelson has picked up an injury in training after ‘an incident’. The striker missed yesterday’s disappointing draw with Sheffield United that Mike Dean completely ruined with yet another cheating, biased, inept refereeing performance.

Anyway, back to Nelson, who has made ten league appearances this season, and it seems as though Arteta has big plans for the 20 year old. Nelson scored the winner in our hard-fought FA Cup win over Leeds United but now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with what looks to be a hamstring problem.

The injury couldn’t have come at a worse time following Aubameyang’s three match suspension, and during a period when goals seem to be hard to come by.

Arteta said:

“We had an incident in training and the doctor is still deciding how long it’s going to take but it’s not looking good…”

Nelson has followed a similar path to Harry Kane who was kicked out of Arsenal for being a chubby diver when he was nine yet still supports Arsenal. Nelson made the reverse switch to leave Tottenh*m to come to Arsenal:

“I’d actually been on trial with Tottenham when I was six but was spotted by Arsenal scouts playing for my Sunday team, Moonshot in Catford. As soon as Arsenal showed an interest, I went straight to Hale End and left Spurs, because Arsenal were the team I supported.”

After yet another draw yesterday, its back to league action on Tuesday night with another tricky game away at Chelsea.
