Following a few weeks of (seemingly very wrong) speculation, it now appears that young striker Eddie Nketiah will remain at Arsenal for the rest of the season.

There were rumours afoot of a move for the youngster to Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest or Sheffield Wednesday, and last night it appeared that the Arsenal web team had made a slip up, posting a Bristol City graphic next to his on loan status on the Arsenal website.

However, according to the Ornmeister General over on The Athletic, it appears tonight that all of these were wide of the mark and Nketiah will stay and fight for a place with Arsenal.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s three match ban was today upheld, so the young forward could get his chance sooner rather than later after apparently impressing Mikel Arteta in training since his return from Leeds United.

England U21 striker Nketiah scored 5 goals in just 2 starts and 15 sub appearances for Leeds, but was recalled by Arsenal after Christmas after only being used sparingly by Marcelo Bielsa.

According to the Evening Standard, if Nketiah does get a game for Arsenal this month, he won’t be eligible for another loan spell this season.
