In an unusually Wednesday team news announcement, AFCi announced that Sead Kolasinac will miss the visit of Sheffield United this weekend. They said he will be assessed ahead of the Chelsea game on Tuesday.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will miss the Sheffield United game, plus the next one against Chelsea and our FA Cup game the following Monday (Grr…) so Mikel Arteta will be hoping other players will step into his boots and bang in a few for The Arsenal.

There was also talk of an appeal against the Aubameyang’s red card, so fingers crossed the ban remains at three games and isn’t increased due to the frivolity of the pretty pointless appeal.

The website also said Bellerin is being assessed ahead of the game with a hamstring issue while Chambers and Tierney remain out long term following ACL and shoulder surgery respectively.

Despite coming off against Crystal Palace on Saturday, it looks like Lucas Torreira should be ok to face United, his muscle problem not serious enough for him to definitely miss the game, Arteta has said he will need to be assessed:

“It’s a very similar situation [to Kolasinac] with Torreira, he trained yesterday as well, but still not 100 percent confident so we will have to wait and see again…”
