Mikel Arteta has confirmed that striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t be leaving the club this January despite rumours saying that he wants a move away from The Emirates.

Despite unfounded rumours about the player wanting to leave, Mikel Arteta has spoken to Aubameyang and has since confirmed he wouldn’t be leaving… well, not yet anyway.

Arteta said:

“I don’t even think about the possibility with Auba leaving, I want him here.”

Arteta has also had a hand in getting Granit Xhaka to stay at Arsenal, despite a very rocky first half the season. Xhaka was rude to some Arsenal fans after being subbed off earlier in the season and also revealed some abuse he received on social media, yet that guy Arteta has changed his mind despite the Swiss international wanting to leave the club:

“I wanted his team-mates to get his back and help him to change his mind because we need him, I believe that if we were able to do that the fans would respond in a positive way…”
