Arsenal legend Ian Wright has said that the appointment of Mikel Arteta is a very exciting one and Arsenal fans should get behind him as we look at get back to winning ways this season. You can see how excited he is from this photo (above) that was taken this morning.

Arteta was announced as Arsenal head coach on Friday on a three and half year deal after more than three years at Man City at Pep Guardiola’s Assistant in somewhat of a shock move by Arsenal.

Ian Wright said on his personal YouTube channel:

“I can’t help but feel very excited about this appointment, it’s one that I personally wanted to happen maybe a year ago. It’s a risk of course, it’s a risk we have to go all in, we have to put all the chips on it…”

Wrighty wants everyone behind the team now that we have made the final, permanent appointment:

“We’ve got to go in and support Mikel with everything he does, whether that’s in the transfer market, whether that’s the players that’s going to go out. That’s going to happen, there’s a lot of players at Arsenal that we need to get rid of. You know that and I know that…”

Arteta didn’t sit in the dugout for our dour 0-0 draw away at Everton under Freddie Ljungberg’s charge, but should be fully ensconced on the bench for our game away at Bournemouth on Boxing Day.
