Alexandre Lacazette and Bukayo Saka grabbed a goal a piece as we came from two goals down to secure a seeded spot in the last 32 of the Europa League.

We were all but certain of qualifying for the next round anyway as long as avoided a 5-0 defeat, and even that wasn’t looking assured after Bastien and Amallah put the Belgians two up in the second half.

With Frankfurt winning in Portugal at Vitoria Guimaraes it looked like we’d finish the group in second place until late strikes of our own and a late turnaround in Portugal turned things on its head.

Saka firstly assisted Lacazette to pull one back, a pinpoint cross finding Lacazette for 1-2, then Saka turned scorer after a quality one-two with Emile Smith-Rowe ahead of an amazing curled finish to level the game.

With those late goals, we pulled our game back to 2-2, knocking Liege out and see ourselves through as group leaders.

The results now mean that we get to play our second leg at home once we find out our last 32 opponents in the draw. It also means we will definitely avoid any big names that drop into the competition from the Champions League, such as Ajax or Inter Milan.

Bukayo Saka was easily Man of the Match for us, a very promising prospect if he can stay fit and we can keep hold of him.

Arsenal:
Martinez, Sokratis, Mavropanos, Luiz, Maitland-Niles, Willock, Saka, Nelson, Lacazette, Smith Rowe.

Subs:
Martinelli, Chambers, Aubameyang.

We now face a huge game on Sunday as we host Man City in the Premier League, live on Sky Sports with a 4:30pm kick off. Who knows, we might even have a new manager by then! Doubt it tho,
