Arsenal have announced that Dani Ceballos will be out until next year after picking up a hamstring injury. Ceballos limped off in the latter stages of our 1-1 draw with Vitoria in Portugal and will not play a part in proceedings until the end of December at the earliest.
It was initially thought his injury was only a small one, but on the Arsenal website under the injury updates, the verdict seems to be the player will be out for a lot longer:
Dani Ceballos: Left hamstring. Sustained during the Vitoria SC (a) match on November 6. Aiming to return to full training mid-December…
Ceballos is currently on loan from Real Madrid and was having a good season up until his injury so he will definitely be missed in the red and white.
The Spaniard has played in 16 games this season, but his commission will now mean more chances for Torreira and Guendouzi, while the injury could also be good news for Granit Xhaka.
Xhaka has been dropped from Emery’s squad after a clash with fans in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace and Ceballos’ injury will limit Emery’s options and could speed up Xhaka’s reinstatement.
