Centre back Rob Holding could come back to the fold this week with a League Cup start against Nottingham Forest at The Emirates on Tuesday night.

Holding has been on the comeback trail for a while since the injury that he picked up about 10 months ago against Man United, and Arsenal have confirmed ahead of our League Cup clash that Holding is now fit and available for selection.

He has played in a couple of U23 games over the past few weeks and has been in full training since August and it now appears that Emery is ready to throw him back into the first team albeit a League Cup game.

AInsley Maitland-Niles is suspended for the game after his red card at home against Villa on Sunday and as a result will be available for our game at Manchester United on Monday.

Alexandre Lacazette remains out for a while yet, but it looks like Emery could put Kieran Tierney, Dinos Mavropanos and Hector Bellerin on standby for this one as they also look to come back to first team action, also having played for the Under 23s recently.

Forest have only lost one game this season so far in the Championship and with a full contingent of away fans, a result from this game should not be taken for grated by Arsenal fans, even if Holding does return especially given our recent defensive frailties.
