According to a report from France, we have had an initial £6m bid rebuffed for attacking midfielder Alexis Claude-Maurice.

The 20 year old man with three first names is one of the most sought after players in France after notching up 14 goals in 35 league games last term, and he is said to be keen to join up with his mate, Matteo Guendouzi, a player he used to play alongside at Lorient.

Guendouzi has settled in well to life in London and has had a half decent season in Arsenal colours so Unai Emery would be hoping, should an offer be accepted, that Claude-Maurice will follow suit. Claude-Maurice was in London last week, and featured on Guendouzi’s Instagram account with his jumper on upside-down.

Lorient relied heavily on the youngster and he was more than impressive across the 35 games in the French second division and this has drawn interest from other French clubs such as Lille and Monaco.
