After this weekend, the footballing Gods continue to smile down on us, as the news tonight is that Alexandre Lacazette can now play in our game against Rennes at The Emirates on Thursday night.

He had been handed a three match ban after being sent off in the latter stages of our defeat away at BATE Borisov. However despite the ban originally being three games, it’s now been cut back to two which means he has already served them, one against Borisov at home and our first leg defeat in France last week.

Dubai Friendly Announced

A UEFA statement said:

“The appeal lodged by Arsenal FC has been partially upheld…”

In other news, we will however be without Sokratis who was red-carded in the 3-1 defeat in France last week. In a similar vein to the BATE tie, we must once again overturn a deficit to qualify for the quarter finals, needed a 2-0 victory to head through on away goals, so it’s a huge ask for the boys, but pretty sure we can do it on a cold Thursday night in North London, especially given this timely Lacazette boost.
