Another disappointing weekend of Premier League action for us Arsenal fans as Arsenal slumped to yet another galling defeat away at West Ham, losing by a single goal.
In a strange build up to the game, it was thought that Ozil would finally return to the fold after training all week only to be left out of the match squad on the day and didn’t even appear at the game, all very odd.
Then our best player of the season Lucas Torreira was left on the bench, while Aaron Ramsey was also benched despite being a player who could boss a game like this away from home, the Uruguayan and Welshman only bought on later in the game as substitutes.
Arguably, we just shaded the first half, with Arsenal dominating but failing to create many clear chances. It was early in the second half that youngster Declan Rice scored his first goal for the Hammers, which proved to be the winner. Ex-Arsenal player Samir Nasri, making his debut for the Hammers played the ball to Rice who struck the ball home.
We had two goals disallowed, one with the almost last kick of the game, but in all fairness we deserved what we got from the game, a bit fat nothing.
A win could have taken us level with Chelsea on points, but Chelsea beat Newcastle, and now we are six adrift of The Blues and this could be nine after our game against them next weekend. Spurs also lost this weekend, annoyingly to Man United who have now caught us up under the tutelage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
