We made it 21 games unbeaten on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Huddersfield. The game was almost ‘one of those’ as the Yorkshiremen thwarted and frustrated us for most of the afternoon.
That was until man-of-the-moment Lucas Torreira popped up with an acrobatic scissor kick to relieve the pressure which had been building up for 80 mins at The Emirates, Aubameyang with the assist.
After getting four points out of six against Spurs and Man United, you’d have thought this game would be a relative walk in the park but it wasn’t to be that way, and we were lucky to get a win, luckily we weren’t caught napping on the online pokies.
Casualties from the game however were rife, with Sokratis, Mustafi and Guendouzi all being booked for diving, earning Arsenal the unwanted record of being the first club to have three players booked for the offence.
Mustafi also limped off late on in the game, and both him and Sokratis will both miss our game at Southampton this weekend.
Not ideal timing with the injury to Rob Holding last week which looks to have ruled the youngster out for the season. It leaves our hopes pinned on returning players such as Monreal, who came on as sub on Saturday, and Laurent Koscielny who hasn’t played first team football for months.
Overall it was a good result, but not without a price to pay, lets hope our walking wounded can somehow form a decent defence at St. Mary’s this weekend.
