We made it ten wins in a row on Monday night at The Emirates, coming from behind to win 3-1 with an outstanding, attacking display against Leicester City.
We started poorly and allowed Leicester to go one up, after a Ben Chillwell deflection off of Bellerin saw The Foxes go ahead. However, an amazing goal from Ozil saw us draw level just moments later. Happy Birthday Arsene Wenger!
Leicester were soon claiming for a penalty after a Rob Holding handball, but later viewings showed that it was actually a foul on Holding.
It was 1-1 at the break, and as the second half got going, so did we with some good old-fashioned Arsenal movement, wave after wave of quality passing and efforts on goal. It was until Unai Emery introduced PE Aubameyang before we got the goals we deserved, two absolute quality goals to boot.
Hard to pinpoint any bad performances, Ozil and iWobi the stand out performers, but any from Lacazette (unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself), Aubameyang, Xhaka, Torreira, Leno (two great first half saves), Bellerin’s assists (despite an OG!), Mustafi and Holding at the back, Lichsteiner, I’m just listing everyone now, but you get the idea.
iWobi must have been embarrassed to be handed the MOTM award after the utter filth Mesut Ozil was producing as Captain, so much so that he passed the award to his Dad.
Anyway, we are now 4th in the Premier League just two points off the top, and with Spurs playing Man City this weekend, a draw could see all sorts of shenanigans if we can notch a win at Palace on Sunday.
Sandwiched between that game and er… now, we travel to Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League on Thursday night, expect some rotation but it feels like everyone wants to start every game, something that’s been missing for a long time.
