Everyone’s favourite in-form Greek and Arsenal defender; Sokratis Papastathopoulos is a major doubt for our game against Leicester.
Papastathopoulos picked up an ankle injury while playing for Greece against Finland and limped off at half time, not reappearing for the second half and as a result his job as owner of The Walford Launderette could also be under threat.
If he does miss the game, this means Unai Emery will be down to bare bones in the heart of the defence with everyone’s other favourite Greek defender Mavropanos not expected back for another few weeks, and with Laurent Koscielny still missing this will leave us a bit like my new haircut, very short at the back.
Other absentees, Danny Welbeck and Petr Cech will be assessed ahead of the game after both picking up recent injuries. It’s thought that Aaron Ramsey could return to play after the birth of his twin boys this week meant he missed Wales’ win over the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
More team news ahead of next Monday as we get it…
