Speed demon…
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been fined £1,250 for speeding but escaped a driving ban this week in North London. The reported that Aubameyang had been driving at 99mph in his Lamborghini.
According to The Sun, his lawyer Robert Morris told the court that:
“He is very sorry he is in this position, he accepts he has no excuse. He uses his car to attend training and matches. It is the top of the bracket, but is not by any stretch of the imagination the worst case of speeding…”
Oops.
Keeper lauded…
After his man of the match performance at home to Everton this weekend, the plaudits keep on coming with ex-keeper Shaka Hislop saying our veteran shot-stopper is better than Man United’s David de Gea.
Hislop said in The Express:
“It’s easy to forget exactly how good Petr Cech was at his best, I think Petr Cech’s game was more complete than David de Gea’s is, even now. In terms of total game, Petr Cech has it over David de Gea…”
Maybe a bit much, but we’ll take it after a tough start to the season for Cech.
Adams rebuffed by the club… again…
Tony Adams had reportedly contacted Ivan Gazidis over the summer only to be told there is no role for him at Arsenal according to Daily Cannon via James Benge on Twitter.
Adams had a very on and off relationship with Arsene Wenger and he was quick to try and get on board with new Manager Unai Emery, only to be told the same as Arsene Wenger had told him, i.e. thanks but no thanks.
Adams’ career since leaving Arsenal has been less than impressive and his failed managerial career in no way reflects his amazing career at Arsenal, so it comes as no surprise that it’s not a shoe-in that he’d come straight back in under Emery.
So it seems that despite being a bona-fide Arsenal legend, with his failed spells at Wycombe, Feyenoord, Portsmouth, Gabala, and Granada, Adams is still struggling to find a way back in to The Emirates.
Bees up next, League Cup begins…
Back to our on-pitch antics, and its a League Cup tie this evening against Championship side Brentford.
Man United crashed out of the competition last night, going out on penalties at home to Derby and let’s hope Emery doesn’t underestimate our London rivals and we can manage a safe passage into the next round – all of the injury news is here for your delectation.
