BBC journalist David Ornstein has given an update on a few Arsenal transfer rumours.

According to Ornstein, Arsenal are still likely to sign Uruguayan Midfielder, Lucas Torreira, but the deal is not done yet. One of the delaying factors is the player’s involvement at the ongoing FIFA world cup with his national team.

Ornstein tweeted:

The deal could be finalised when Uruguay end their campaign in Russia, the South Americans are currently in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, and this is clearly delaying the move.

Torreria’s current club, Sampdoria are already looking for his replacement which shows a sign the deal could be on the cards, but his amazing performances in Russia could have alerted more clubs to his talets.

Unai Emery, the Gunner’s new Manager looks to be prepared for a challenge next term, having already signed a defender, keeper, and also announcing the arrival of Sokratis today.

However, let see whether there are going to be any more signings ahead of the start of the season in a few weeks time.
