Arsenal’s rumoured pirsuit of Nice midfielder, Jean Michael Seri has just turned more positive with the news that Sky Sports are reporting that a deal could already be in place. Arsenal are in the market for players in several positions and a creative midfielder is definitely high on the shopping list given our lack of goals last season. Seri has been one of the names mentioned to be moving to The Emirates to work under new Manager Unai Emery and if the reports from Sky Sports journalists are to be believed, this is going to be a massive coup for The Gunners.
Seri was hot property in the transfer market last summer as Arsenal and Barcelona were keen on signing the player. Emery also made a move to try and sign him at PSG last season with no success. The 26-year- old Ivorian could finally be making the move this summer and the fee being reported sounds like enough to make him switch clubs and join up with Emery at last.
However, it’s thought that Arsenal are not the only club tracking the midfielder this summer as both Napoli and Dortmund are also said to be interested in his signature.
Dharmesh Sheth said on the Transfer Talk podcast:
“I’m being led to believe that there’s an agreement with his club that he will be allowed to leave for £35m…”
If one thing is almost certain this summer, it’s that Seri will move and given Emery’s attempts to sign him before his possible destination could definitely be The Emirates. This could be good news for Arsenal fans to see their club buy a player of the stature of Seri, especially given the lack of Champions League this time out.
