BBC journalist David Ornstein has given an update regarding who he thinks will be taking over from Arsene Wenger during the summer. Wenger announced that he will be ending his 22-year spell at Arsenal earlier last month, and the club has been on the search to get a replacement.
The BBC’s David Ornstein has given an updating on the potential replacement but the likes of Brendan Rodgers or Thomas Tuchel are not included in his shortlist.
However, the Gunners are expecting to land a manager before the upcoming World Cup and according to the Ornstein, Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri is said to be the most likely candidate to replace Wenger.
Arsenal hope to name boss by World Cup. #AFC want proper process & to respect those in jobs. No idea who but not Simeone, Tuchel (#PSG may confirm Wed), Löw (#GER stay likely), Rodgers, Faria etc. Don’t sense Enrique, hear Allegri plans to leave #Juventus but unclear on next move

Wenger’s decision to leave after the end of this season came as a shock to many despite recent disappointing results and search for a replacement will take a few weeks at least.
Wenger took charge of his last home game with Arsenal on Saturday when we defeated Burnley 5-0 after an awful performance against Atletico Madrid in the Europa League which saw the end of our chance to land silverware this season. We also lost to Leicester tonight 3-1 and Wenger’s last game in charge will be away at Huddersfield this coming Sunday where the Frenchman will be hoping to go out on a winning note after 22 years in charge.
