This time of year at Arsenal is the time when contracts are extended and the next in line is Alex Iwobi. The Nigerian has reportedly agreed a new deal at the club, according to Score Nigeria who often get reliable reports about African players.

The 22-year-old has been one of the youth graduates from Arsenal’s academy to currently be in the first team however full details of the deal are not yet known.

Iwobi signed a five year deal with The Gunners in 2015 before his breakthrough season that same year which means he still have two seasons left in his contract but it looks like he’ll be getting a pay rise.

He is currently on a £30,000 per week deal but he has been one of the scapegoats for Arsenal’s poor season so the talk of a new deal will make many fans question if he actually deserves the new deal and pay rise.

With 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and completing 5 assists, the Nigerian will hope to improve those stats at the club next season.
