Arsenal were put to the sword by Manchester United yesterday after Wenger decided to field an experienced team, choosing to let our key, senior players rest ahead of this week’s Europa League second leg in Madrid.

Arsenal were left disappointed by the late winning goal by Marouane Fellaini, something which could be laid firmly at the feet of several Arsenal defenders, all of who failed to get high enough to stop the Belgian’s looping header.

Although, the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi never started the game against United, neither have been in their best form this season which has led to an awful season for Arsenal.

Several reports from Germany claim that Arsenal have started considering their options in replacing those players, and one such name that has been identified by Arsenal new chief scout, Sven Mislintat is Borussia Dortmund’s Sokratis Papastathopoulos (who says we don’t sign big names any more?!).

Givemesports is leading the story about how the Greek international could be moving to The Emirates, Mislintat is reported to be a big fan of the 29-year- old and his vast Bundesliga experience.

With just a year left of his Dortmund contract, Arsenal might just have come in at the right time to bargain for him as he is expected to be available for the relatively cheap price of around £20m.
