Arsenal have endured an underwhelming season so far and with just few games to go before the season ends, the Gunners have started looking ahead to next season having identified four key areas to strengthen their squad this summer.
Head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat is believed to be spearheading the Gunners revamp this summer with the German apparently looking at bringing a new Keeper, Centre-Back, Defensive Midfielder and Left-Back.
We take a look at some of the options being identified by Sven in an attempt to turn us into real title challengers, after managing to secure signing of Aubamyeng and Mhkiyartan in the winter transfer window.
Goalkeeper – Jan Oblak
The Slovenian international is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and it is understood that the shot stopper is top of the Gunners’ wishlist in the summer.
Although, prizing him away from Atletico Madrid won’t be easy as the Los Rojiblancos might only be willing to part with the 25-year-old if only a bid in the excess of £88m million is submitted for his services.
He is known for his concentration, reflexes, saving penalties and close range shots.
Midfielder – Max Meyer
The German midfielder is set to be available on a free transfer in the summer with his contract set to expire at the end of the season with Schalke.
The 22-year-old’s refusal to extend his contract with the Bundesliga side has drawn attention from top clubs with Arsenal hoping bring him to The Emirates this summer.
With Jack Wilshere looking likely to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, Max Meyer could be a perfect replacement for the playmaker.
There is no doubt that the signing of the aforementioned players would give Wenger plenty of options next season and they will as well easily fit in to the following 4-3-3 information should the Frenchman still be around to choose the team.
