Alexandre Lacazette took part in full training this week as he looks to return after the knee op which has kept him out for other a month. Jack Wilshere also trained after missing two England games during the interlull.
Steve Bould, sitting in for Arsene Wenger who has lost his voice told football.london in today’s presser that:
“Lacazette trained yesterday, whether he will be involved I’m not so sure. Jack trained, he’s OK. We’ll find out more today. He’s remarkable, behind closed doors I’ve never met anyone is as hungry…”
Mesut Ozil also flew back from the German camp early, but there’s not thought to be any issue with his starting Sunday’s game.
Stoke come to town languishing near the bottom of the Premier League while we are clinging on to the feint hope of a top four finish, relying on several teams above us to Spurs things up in the remaining few games of the season.
After the Stoke game, we face CSKA Moscow at home next week in the Europa League and Wenger will be hoping that Lacazette will be fit again as we are seriously short of firepower in that competition, with just Danny Welbeck available up front as Aubameyang is cup-tied.
