According to various sources, Thomas Tuchel has agreed to replace Arsene Wenger at the helm of Arsenal manager at the end of this season.

The rumours stem from the news in The Evening Standard that he turned down a move to Bayern Munich because he’d already accepted a move to a top European club and that there was a possibility that he had been in negotiations with Arsenal. The one thing that might scupper such an appointment at The Emirates could be the news that Tuchel had a ‘bust up’ with Sven Mislinat at Dortmund which saw Mislinat banned from the German side’s training ground.

Lothar Matthaus has also hinted toward the fact that Tuchel is also in contact with Arsenal about becoming head coach this weekend.

Matthaus said in SportBild via ArsenalFever that:

“I think Thomas Tuchel could be the favourite, I also know that he’s in contact with Arsenal…”

Since Wenger signed his new 2 year deal with Arsenal, things haven’t improved as it looks like we’ll miss out on the Champions League for the 2nd time in two years after a frankly disastrous league campaign and a 3rd round FA Cup exit at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

The only way we can get back into Europe’s second best tournament is if we win the first, the Europa League, where we face CSKA Moscow in the coming weeks.

Anyway its back to league action this week as relegation-threatened, 2nd from bottom Stoke come to town.
