Early transfer rumours for the summer are already starting to gather pace, despite the season still having over 2 months to go before the window even opens. The first big-name player linked to a summer move to Arsenal is Barcelona’s new acquisition, striker Ousmane Dembele.

The story that Dembele might leave the current La Liga leaders has come from the story that Barcelona are closer to getting Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann according to TeamTalk.

Dembele who joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for a record £94m has not found life easy at the Nou Camp and has struggled with injury and limited playing time since his recovery. He has only made four starts for his new club which is a poor statistic for a player of his talent who joined the club for such a high price tag.

The 20-year-old now has no choice but to open up to other options and this has put Arsenal on red alert to him becoming a top summer target according to Calciomercato.

The story about Dembele’s frustration is also reported in Spanish top media outlet, Don Balon, who also believe that the deal to Arsenal will happen if Barcelona complete the Griezmann deal over the summer.

If Arsenal are able to get Dembele this summer, it will be one of their best signings in recent times and reuniting him with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could yet prove to be one last masterstroke from Arsene Wenger.
