After this weekend’s absolute shambles at Wembley, it would be great if we could play one of your Stokes or your Watfords, or your Swanseas (wait, what, did we? All 3?) but no, we play Man City again this Thursday with our absolute mauling still fresh in the memory. Goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva without reply saw our League Cup challenge fizzle out at the final hurdle in humiliating fashion.

Anyway, its back to the Premier League, the game kicks off at 7:45pm, and is live on Sky, and before the game we already find ourselves a whopping 27 points behind the leaders, soon to be 30 should we lose, which is very likely if Sunday’s abysmal ‘effort’ is anything to go by.

I love you Arsenal, but I’m not in love with you.

In some early team news, Nacho Monreal came off against City at Wembley so he’d definitely be seen as a doubt, while its unlikely that Alexandre Lacazette will return after his knee operation this early, so things aren’t looking great. This leaves Kolasinac as Monreal’s replacement and while we’re sure to start Abuameyang up front, Danny Welbeck and Eddie Nketiah would look like our only back up strikers for the game.

A defeat would see us remain TEN points behind Spurs with just NINE games left and leaves us with the unenviable task of having to type all numbers relating to the league table in CAPS for the rest of the season. It would also mean we are THIRTY points behind the league leaders with just a few weeks left of the season and TEN points to make up in the NINE remaining games to stand a slim chance of top FOUR.

Come on Arsenal, at least play for the badge and restore some pride, you useless bunch.
