Arsenal’s pursuit of Lyon’s of highly rated midfielder Nabil Fekir seems to be going in the right direction. The North London club will be delighted with the latest news from the player’s camp with his agent admitting that there is uncertainty about his future at Lyon after this season, according to a report in The Metro.

Arsene Wenger has apparently urged the club’s hierarchy to go all out to sign the 24-year-old midfielder before the start of the World Cup. He’s worried that a decent tournament for him could see his valuation shoot up, alerting other clubs to his talents. The club is apparently willing to pay as much as £45m for his services but Lyon would no doubt value him far higher.

The discussion about Fekir was put to his agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes by Telefoot via The Metro and he replied:

“It’s too early to talk about it. We have time, that’s the straight line, there are important goals and he is already in a big club. After considering my relationship with [Lyon president] Jean-Michel Aulas, we will make the best decision…”

His tally of 16 goals and 6 assists in just 23 games is one of the best from a midfielder in Europe’s top five leagues and he would no doubt be a great addition for a team like Arsenal.
